Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults

Women’s Fellowship is once again sponsoring a bake sale on Saturday and Sunday, October 26th and 27th. We are asking the members of our parish to donate baked goods to be sold on this weekend only. Pies, cakes, cookies and breads will be appreciated. Homemade goodies are always a big hit. Please drop them off in the Parish Hall on Saturday, October 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. If anyone is willing to help sell before and after the Mass they attend, we would be appreciative. We could also use some help pricing and wrapping the donated items. Please mark down this weekend to bake and buy for a good cause. The proceeds from the bake sale will go to our local chapter of St. Vincent DePaul to help families in need as well as our SOS guests.

Pilgrimage to the Most Blessed Sacrament Cathedral: ~Meet at SEAS @ Noon. Permission slip required – sponsor or parent may attend. Mass at the Cathedral is at 11:00 am. Your family may also choose to attend Mass at the Cathedral at 11:00 am and meet with us afterwards.

Free Tai Chi classes are meeting once again in the Parish Hall, with the new season beginning Monday, Sept. 7th at 10:30 a.m. This art is a moving meditation & fitness regimen developed to promote the flow of Chi (or energy in the body). The slow, flowing movements have been shown to offer numerous benefits to the quality of life, including decreases in stress & anxiety, improved circulation, & more. It is recommended by the National Institute of Health because they found that seniors took Tai Chi, fell 475 less than those who didn’t. When done wisely, it does no damage to the body & can help it keep working for as long as you need it. For more information or if you have any questions, call Lynne Pfannes at (248) 524-1951.

What do St. Joan of Arc, St. John Vianney, St. Maria Goretti, St. Maximilian Kolbe, St. Padre Pio, and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton all have in common?  They were all declared saints in the 20th century.  In a very short time their stories and faith have left an indelible mark on our Church. Millions of people today have been influenced by their lives and look for their intercession every day.  Our Church is in a different place because of them. In this months’ discussion at MWTM we are asking the question - ‘Who could be their counterparts in the 21st century?’  Come with us during this season that we celebrate the Saints and explore some of the Servants Of God, the Venerables, and the Blesseds that could influence the universal Church through their holiness in this Century.  Could we introduce you to the next St. Teresa of Lisieux or St. Faustina?

Our Fall Tuesday night Bible Study with Rob Pelliccia will be a 10 week study on the Prophets of the Old Testament starting 9/24/19 ending 12/10/19 (No class October 1 and with a break 11/19 for SOS). Sign up online. We will be meeting in the Social Hall.

Our seniors here at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton will begin meeting again after the 8:30 a.m. Mass on Wednesday, October 30, 2019. Dan Michalec has offered to continue with these meetings and would like to take this opportunity to invite all our seniors to join him and the others who have been attendees in the past. Come chat and catch up with friends. Discuss your summer and what you would like to see the seniors here at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton offer you in the winter to beat those winter blues! Hope to see many new faces on October 30th!!
