St. Elizabeth Ann Seton
2022 Backpack Drive
It is back to school time! For us at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, we have a beautiful tradition of providing back to school items to our neighbors in need.
This year, again, we are helping Sister Peggy Devaney at Oakland County Jail and Outreach Ministry. This ministry assists families who have been victims of crime, as well as families who have a provider incarcerated—leaving the family in a precarious state. She has asked that, if we are able, could we please focus on middle and high school kids. Imagine needing to drop advanced classes because you cannot afford a graphing calculator for advanced classes. A middle or high school backpack look is age appropriate in design and contains the following items:
o GRAPHING CALCULATOR
o Sturdy, reusable (preferably metal) water bottle
o 5 subject notebooks (2 or 3)
o Composition books
o Combination lock
o Pens
o Pencils
o Highlighters
o Post it notes
o Index cards
o 3 ring binder and Loose-leaf paper
o Younger kids will need glue sticks, crayons, markers, scissors, pencil cases, etc.
Please respond generously if you are able. Backpacks will be distributed on
August 22. Please deliver completed, labeled (high school, middle school, or elementary) backpacks by August 21 to the table in the Social Hall. Please call the office with any questions—248-879-1310, or email secretary@saintliz.org.
