Middle School Summer Program 2023-2024
For the 2023-2024 middle school prgram, Fr. Steve and the Relgious Education staff at St. Anastasia have graciously agreed to help form our students. We are asking you to enroll your middle schoolers in their program. You will be charged the normal SEAS tuition rate. It is a hybrid schedule with coursework done at home and in-person classes once a month, either on Tueday or Wednesday.
For students entering 7th grade, please remember that confirmation in 8th grade requires that you attend 7th and 8th grade religious education. For our 8th graders, we will hold sacrament preparation for Confirmation at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, and Bishop Cepeda will be here to celebrate your sacrament with you on Sunday, May 19th 2024 @ 11:00 am.
The deadline for registration at St. Anastasia is August 31. Please go to their website and register your students (https://www.stanastasia.org/faith-formation/religious-education/)
If you have already registered at SEAS, you will still need to fill out St. Anastasia's forms. If you have already paid SEAS, we will forward your payment to St. Anastasia once we hear from them that you have registered. St. Anastasia would welcome and appreciate any catechists or volunteers.
If you also have elementary students, we plan to hold our grade 1 -5 program at SEAS starting in early October on Wednesdays, as we have in the past. Please continue to register those students on the SEAS website.
We realize you might find this solution less that ideal. We would prefer to have all of our students here, and we plan to have a strong middle school program back at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton for the 2024-2025 school year. However, as we know our current culture puts less emphasis on faith and religion. Because of the decline, it has become increasingly difficult to build and maintain good programs. This is why we need your help. Talk about our Catholic Faith in the home. Include family prayer time in your daily schedule. Come to Mass and celebrate the other Sacraments. Find ways to volunteer at SEAS and properly order your schedule to make religion a vibrant part of it. You are your child's primary catechist. Thank you for embracing this vocation, we want to do all that we can to support this.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Dominic Macioce
